SPECIAL WARNINGS FOR EACH TARGET SPECIES
The veterinary medicinal product maintains efficacy after exposure to sunlight or if the animal gets wet from rain.
Avoid shampooing or immersing the animal in water frequently after treatment as the duration of efficacy may be reduced.
To reduce re-infestations resulting from the appearance of new fleas, it is recommended to treat all dogs that live in the house. Pet fleas often infest the animal's basket, bed and normal resting areas, such as carpets and fabrics in general, which should be treated in case of massive infestation and when initiating control measures , using a suitable insecticide and vacuuming regularly.
There may be attachment of isolated ticks, or stings isolated from sandflies or mosquitoes, after treatment. For this reason, the transmission of infectious diseases can not be ruled out if the conditions are unfavorable.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE IN ANIMALS
The weight of the animals should be determined accurately prior to the start of treatment.
The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established in dogs less than 12 weeks old or weighing less than 1,5 kg.
Precautions should be taken to prevent pipette contents from coming into contact with the eyes or mouth of the treated dog. It is important to make sure that the veterinary medicinal product is applied in an area where the animal can not lick it and to ensure that the animals do not lick each other after treatment. This veterinary medicinal product is extremely toxic to cats and may even cause death due to the particular physiology of this species that is unable to metabolize certain compounds including permethrin. In case of accidental skin exposure wash the cat with shampoo or soap and immediately consult the assistant veterinarian . In order to prevent accidental exposure to the veterinary medicinal product keep dogs away from cats after treatment until the application site is dry. It is important to ensure that cats do not lick the place of application of a treated dog. If this happens, immediately consult the assistant veterinarian.
ADVERSE REACTIONS (FREQUENCY AND GRAVITY)
Transient cutaneous reactions at the application site (pruritus, erythema) and generalized pruritus have been reported. Transient behavioral changes (usually hyperactivity / agitation) and vomiting may occur.
If the animal licks the site of application after treatment a transient hypersalivation may be observed.
USE DURING THE GASTATION, LACTATION OR POSTURE OF EGGS
Laboratory studies of fipronil and permethrin have not revealed any evidence of teratogenic or embryotoxic effects. No studies have been performed on pregnant or lactating bitches. Administer during gestation and lactation only in accordance with the benefit / risk assessment performed by the responsible veterinarian.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
The recommended minimum dose is 6.7 mg fipronil / kg p. v. and 60 mg permethrin / kg p. v.
For dogs> 60 kg use the appropriate combination of pipettes.
METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION:
Remove the pipette from its packaging. Hold the pipette upright. Cover the narrow part of the pipette to ensure that all contents are in the main body of the pipette. Split the pipette fitting cap along the dashed line. Remove the dog's fur until the skin is clearly visible. Place the tip of the pipette directly against the bare skin and gently squeeze several times until the contents are emptied into two to four different application sites, according to body weight, along the pet's back, starting from the shoulder blades up to the base of the tail. As a guideline, in dogs weighing less than 20 kg, apply at two locations and dogs weighing more than 20 kg at 2-4 locations.
